| Southern Manitoba is just as dry. Neighbors dug a hole 12 feet deep to bury trees, was slightly damp at the bottom. We normaly hit some wetness at 4 to 6 feet. Our wheat is up not looking good. Corn and beans are in moisture and sprouting. Lot of canola in dry dirt . It takes 18 inches of water to raise a wheat crop. May is not looking to good for rain. That means we need 9 inches rain in june and 9 inches in july. Our wet month is june average 5 inches of rain and july is drier. August is very dry The odds are stacked against us. No subsoil moisture. So where are bushels going to come from ? I feel everyones pain. It really SUCKS. | |
