John Burns - 4/16/2021 21:32

My dad told me about early in his farming career in the winter cutting hedge posts to sell. Crosscut saw and ax. Hired a neighbor that needed a job for a dollar a day to help. The neighbor brought a home canned jar of plums each day for lunch. That is what they had, so that is what he ate for lunch. A jar of canned plums.

I cut a bunch of hedge posts this winter, using saws and equipment those guys could only have dreamed of.  And if all I had for lunch was a jar of plums, well, I sure would have hoped to have a roll of shop towels close at hand a couple hours later...
