sw ontario | Dax , great read. . Do you have any idea what those you speak of do/live now?
We , like all at the time were poor ,but rich in many other ways. Always lot's of meat, potatoes, canned fruit/vegatables and healthy eating as very seldom had candy/chocolate bars or soda pop.
Maybe just memories from late 50's , early '60's but I don't remember parents or others complaining about life or wishing they had xxxx.
Dad growing up during depression said that then no money, they had hired man who was paid 10 cents /hr. and worked 10 hr. days.....But all the farms were pretty much self sufficient raising livestock, chickens, big gardens and most farms had some orchard trees too........Can't remeber too much what we as kids did for entertainment before I was maybe 10 except walking back lane to bush each day in summer to watch cows......sure didn't have video games/cell phone like now
We baby boomers have been a pretty blessed bunch
