Massachusetts | Old silage plastic works fine. Take a section without many holes or rips, put dirt or wood chips on edges. Cut holes in plastic and drop your transplants in. Black side up with heat up soil earlier in spring. Zero weed escapes and don’t have to worry about weeding at all. Important to keep tomatoes up off plastic. There will be dips that water will pool on plastic- I just poke holes where it pools to let it drain better. Pull plastic up next spring or just clear old plants and replant in same holes. Easy, simple, free (if you have livestock/bunker).
