Don't know how big of a garden you are planting. But last year we used refrigerator boxes and drilled a 4inch hole in it. We had excellent weed control and the best tomato crop we've ever had. The cucumber and zucchini didn't rot as bad either laying on the cardboard and over winter it has desinigrated
