Jefferson, SD | I use the landscape fabric from the conservation office that they use for new shelter belt tree plantings. It's good stuff and lasts for years. I have a small hole every 4' dead center of the paper. Don't actually cut a hole, just make an X and fold the pieces back. 90% of the things you grow will adapt fine to holes vs rows. I have a dripper on each hole and a timer runs each set for 1-3hrs/day. Takes about half a day to set up my 3 100' strips each spring and very little is needed after that. I use cement wire cages for cucumbers and other vines to keep them vertical. It's a good way to grow a high producing garden when you have no time to spend on it. | |
