I dont know a single farmer who has quit farming (without being forced out). I know plenty who work day jobs that would love to be farmers. As you said about that grass...


I know a few who were forced out and ended up with a better life, and I also know a few who decided to leave a crappy situation while the lifeboat was still high and dry instead of going down with the ship who are much happier now than if they had stayed.   A lot depends on timing, some depends on blind luck, and sometimes a great deal depends on a toxic family dynamic.
