This site is just like a coffee shop. Hick made a very well thought out and intelligent statement about transition. Just like the coffee shop crowd there are many who bash his plan. Is it jealousy or ignorance.

I think its just so complicated that no 1 plan can work for all of us , I apprecite Hicks ideas....

And I remember the '80's broke some pretty established farmers that backed/signed for there kids to buy land/machinery at the top of the price cycle...kids walked away and got a job ,parents ,not so fortunate



Yes,I know of several situations like that in the 1980's...When times were good the Dad signed so the son could buy land and equipment....When things got tough the kids bailed out and their Dads lost everything..Several were very bitter....I felt sorry for them.
