se Neb | Damn, I would have liked all that time off. I must have been doing something wrong. I sat at the kitchen table correcting papers, writing tests, planning the next week, etc. That’s after making supper for a family of six, because the wife didn’t get home from her nursing job until 7, and if we were going to eat, I had to make it. As for those 3 months off, in various years, I shingled, painted houses, worked at a fertilizer distributor and mowed 20 to 25 lawns. Oh, can’t forget the paper routes after school. Oh, also the state required you to get 6 graduate hours of college every 5 years, so that time came out of those 3 months also. That’s why I ended up with 65 graduate hours beyond my Bachelor’s degree. MORAL: Don’t knock a profession unless you’ve experienced it! | |
