Why do you need to program more than once. Any modifications could be written into the program and left alone unless a catastrophic failure. I only ever reprogram after an odd power outage when a battery was dead. Even then it's usually just an eprom upload. Most of what we needed PLCs for years ago, now is done on a single CPU or HMI.
Who earns more the first year out of school!
