southern MN | In my entirely different conditions, a blade machine is just a terrible thing. We all own an old disk for when it is needed, but we hope it stays parked in the grove year after year.
Field cultivators or a harrow is the tool for our type of wet clay. Lift and open that clay here, don’t squishing it down with rolling blades.
But just 20 miles east or west, they are starting to use those new fangled straight disks, and have enough sandy loam in the clay to make it work.
It sounds like your ground has enough loam to be ok with blades?
