Subject: RE: No-Till Questions, my operation

Jackson County, AL

We run Deere with openers only to plant beans in 15" rows.  Case has a better reputation in that situation with their leading opener design.  For corn I'd definitely want to look hard at the narrow row cleaners, even if I had to go to the 3" gauge wheels for better depth control.  Here I just wouldn't want to be without row cleaners for corn and in some situations I think they'd do us a lot of good in beans as well, especially behind wheat.  Again, no experience with the red planter but just our experience in 100% no-till with a green one.
