Walnut Grove MN USA
I am about a 100 miles straight north of you. Striptill corn and notill soybeans for 20+ years. I think your first issue is how are you going to handle fertilizer application? Back in the ridge till days producers ran into a problem of potassium deficiencies when broadcasting their fertilizer. The K was on top and the roots couldn’t reach it. They started putting it 4-5 inches deep and the problem went away. Striptill is a good system providing your ground isn’t to rolling but you will be on 30 inch rows for corn but it does get your fertilizer where it needs to be. Notill soybeans in my opinion is a no brainer. Your planter is already an excellent notill planter, just make sure everything is up to snuff and it should work well. I would sell the disk ripper, disk, field cultivator and get a tile plow and split those 100 foot spacing down to 33 feet. That will do far more good than any tillage tool will ever do.
