coast of Maine | The Elk is extremely lean,very dark red,no game taste at all with the steaks or ground that i have had in the past.Moose is way sub par to elk,a very nice white tailed deer shot and cleaned well is still more wild tasting than Elk.My wife grew up in a family that ate no wild game and has an aversion to all wild meat , but likes Elk.I have tried to sneek deer meat into say a chilli and she usually found out,,,no deer eaten here anymore,heehe | |
