OK, but remember - I got so sick from those opioids that I cleaned completely out - just like after the tacos in Edmonton. I had no population of gut bacteria remaining. Anything I ate left my stomach upset. I found that I could best handle a (very) little bit of oatmeal or a slice of sourdough bread - so that is pretty much what I lived on for awhile. I slowly added some chicken soup - and I should emphasize slowly. I was really cleaned out.

So, anyway, I would recommend oatmeal, but I'm not sure that without getting rid of the bad gut bacteria it will change things permanently.

And, if he doesn't like oatmeal all that much, I would strongly recommend adding a good amount of walnut pieces and brown sugar. Or, substitute pecan pieces for walnuts - and with the brown sugar, tell him it's like eating pecan pie for breakfast.
