| I think I posted this before, but in case not, I'll put it up again. I suspect that once a person gets a less than ideal bug population established in their gut, it can be terribly difficult to change it. Happened to me on a trip to Alaska when I ate a couple of tacos in Edmonton. Was never the same - until I had to go cold turkey off opioids after surgery this past summer, when I think I cleaned out once again. Started eating a bit of oatmeal, and in spite of never really liking the stuff, kept it up - because it was something I seemed to tolerate decently. Now, my gut is more regular than at any time I can remember. I've not wanted to quit the oatmeal in the mornings ever since. | |
