| We've tried it that way but next time I think we'll just try spraying in the spring and then no-tilling them. We've mowed and sprayed the previous year or just sprayed and it leaves such a wet mat in a wet spring. As long as we don't get big rains right after planting, for us CRP no-till has always been very forgiving with establishing the stand, even leaving tread bars across the field and open muddy seed trenches. You just have to stay in the seat and grit your teeth because you will wonder what the hell you're doing out there.
Pictures show a year where we sprayed in the fall and dealt with the mess laying on the ground.
