Glasgow, Ky
Far as I know. Most of us back then were on 38 inch rows and there was ample room for a unit in between.
I got a 4 row Allis no till planter in 1979. Hadn't been farming that long and was pretty much starting from scratch when it came to grain farming. My first no till rig consisted of a tricycle Farmall 450 with two 100 gallon saddle tanks on a homemade frame. Plumbing was cobbled together iusing pipe fittings and a manual shutoff. Had a boom mounted on the back of the planter. Had to fill up pretty often running 20 gal per acre.

The good old days, well maybe not.
