Here, electricity was critical to making the jump from subsistence farming to cash farming.
My great-grandfather and his sister had actually built the dairy barn before electricity showed up, but they were expecting electric within a few years.
They hand-milked and sold cream until the electric lines showed up.
Which generation seen the most changes to make life better???
