North of London | Your post reminded me of TV.
None in my life until I was around 8 and saw one while visiting aunt and uncles in Toronto.
It was quite a small screen, maybe about the size you see in a vehicle for backup camera
Black and white of course and quality of picture was not that good.
Local station in London opened in 1952 or 53 and father had a brother in law who sound almost anything and got a TV set back because someone did not make their payments so gave father a deal
This was 1 oe 2 years after the station opened and we got it just as the NHL finals began
Station, only 1 available then, came on the air at around 3 or 4pm and shut down again after the nightly news at 12.
