Near-north Ontario, French River | I didn't read all the responses but I'd guess those born in the 1910-1915 time period saw the most dramatic changes.. They would have seen the change from a mostly agrarian , horse and buggy society to a modern society that includes jet planes, affordable fuel efficient COMFORTABLE automobiles,cell phones, computerization, nuclear power, advanced sciences etc. Todays generations are seeing improvements in technology but it seems as though the giant leaps forwards in technology of all kinds are few and far between. 50 yrs ago mankind put humans on the moon and today we struggle with the technology to go back.... major diseases had cures developed in the 40's and 50's, yet we still can cure the common cold. Pen and paper in the 1910's to hand held smart phones that can do calculations that would have taken days to do by hand etc. it goes on and on. |
