I had a period after a few months of being on the diet some pretty bad constipation. I'm not sure if it was the diet or some supplements I was trying out at the time. And of course if a person has constipation the body tries to overcome that and over compensates in the opposite direction. But that was for a short period of time and I got over it. Wasn't fun when I had it though. Generally once a day now about 90% of the time but occasionally every other day or twice in one day. I have taken several different forms of magnesium supplement over the last year and I can attest that in the wrong form or wrong amount it can have a laxative effect. Magnesium and potassium are two minerals supposedly a lot of people are deficient so we have been taking some for about a year now. Don't know that we really need it, but we take it. John
