Yes, we have RTK now, so plan to move over 30” and plant corn on CC strips. I’d like to get something planted this fall in the corn row that we could keep for 17-18 months, then plant on those strips.
We ridged the 60” corn today that has no covers or some that didn’t do well. (Not impressed with the lentils, you were right) Plan on drilling cover crops there tomorrow. Mounted 15’ drill, 7.5” spacing, gauge wheels set to center of row, dropping 2 units to make a 22.5” gap, will let the seed tubes hang and dribble seed next to the row on at least some.
Here are some more pics taken this morning. Does redroot pigweed make a good covercrop? Give something for the peas to grow up?
