Yeah at a $1.50. We are entering uncharted waters. We will continue to produce monster crops until the weather patterns change. Covid 19 will upset the apple cart for years to come .

With the current farm legislation, there will be tremendous subsidy payments if corn spends much time around $1.50. The farmer has an effective put somewhere above $2.50 or so, depending on a lot of things.
We're gonna be farming the farm bill for a few years, if this thread is any indication.
I don't know how base acres work in "the fringe", but the whole dpilot and Chief discussion up above is going to be affected by who gets a better PLC payment. Base Acres are going to be more important than APH when the board is below $2.50.
Lots of factors are gonna come into play. Eventually the public won't tolerate 50-75 cent LDP's year after year. |
