North Western Alberta | Sparrell..., apparently you havent ridden in a new Rav 4, with the V-6. They DANGLE! I think they are 270 hp, and quite small. Id say 120 to 135 is very doable. We almost bought one, but felt it was a tad small. So, we bought a new 4 door Jeep Wrangler. Im going to say 100 to 105 is top speed on that thing. Not to much like a cheetah. More like..... umm... a feral boar..... lol
I had a 1976 Firebird Trans Am, with the 455 4- speed. I remember doing the calculations, and it was good for about 145 in 4th, at redline. Yes, I had it there, no, it didnt feel safe, and no, I wouldnt do it again. That thing at about 120 started to feel really unsafe, and beyond there, the sensation of speed was the same. You knew you were doing something you SHOULDNT BE DOING. Plus, the 455 wasnt a great engine to rev high too long, due to large crank main journals, and a long stroke. They had a habit of spinning main bearings at high RPM. | |
