I think you are missing a few important factors in regards to the labor of irrigation. Yeah you might get 40-50 bu more sometimes. But other times you wont even see that, especially with a 225 aph. Other years you might actually take a yield hit as the ground won't handle the occasional downpour as well.

Don't forget the extra labor involved. They don't run themselves and wear out even if used sparingly.

I wouldn't dream of irrigation with that kind of aph.
