I saw a 6 bushel gain in my bean irrigation last year. I put 2.2" on through drip tape laid on top of ground. From July 14th to August 14th we had 0.2" rain on July 28th. I watered starting August 9th and quit on the 13th. I started way to late(wasn't any moisture in top 3" of soil), if I had started in middle of July and put on 6-8" I think my yield gain would have been 15-20bu.
