| Excellent durability with 14 Liter Cummins and with the 11.1 Liter Detroit 60 series. The Cummins, being larger, is better on torque, but the Detroit is better on fuel consumption and starts in cold weather without a fuss. Used tractors above 500K yet south of 999K are a great choice for the money, it's just hard to find one with the transmission and final ratio that we like. If you can get an FLD120 with the electronic 14L and 4.10 finals, the 10-speed plays well. Not sure if you can get the Detroit 11.1 in the brands you mentioned but given that an International dealer is VERY nearby our center of operation, International is a good choice for us... and quite a few of 'em about 2000 model year have that engine. PACCAR... crapshoot. MaXXforce... just run away. Nobody in our neck o' the woods wants them, and for good reason. They were not reliable brand new, so it'd be nuts to think a used one would stay out of the shop. | |
