I don't know about what to do but I can sure tell you what NOT to do!
If your wife insists you run it before you go on vacation in the end of august.
If your concrete company tell you they are booked for a month and suddenly they can bring concrete in August after dinner, Do not do it. The pros shut down as it is to hot for the concrete.
If you are like I am and relented to the first mistake. You may be forced to make the other mistakes, which led to another mistake. Do not run cement with 2 small high school kids who have never ever done work of any kind, a severely overweight and out of shape guy ( me) and an old retired guy. By the way we had 6 loads come with the temperature at 113 half way through. When the last truck came I gave him directions to go down by the ditch and dump it. Unfortunately he didn't listen and I had to place it also.
I will say though, The concrete is still hard and has no cracks 6 years later.
