Central Illinois - west of Peoria | I’m lucky enough to work for a company that supplies me with a truck , I’ve had three with a 6.2 - great engine . 2011 had 170,000 miles , 2015 had 110,000 and engine was never touched in neither one. Both had there fair share of 12-15,000 # loads and were fine , sure they weren’t locomotives but they got the job done they were asked to do . Truck i am driving now is a 2019 - doesn’t seem like it’s getting the mileage the older ones but between being new and cold weather - maybe the reason ? The 2015 would average 13.8 (not towing ). You can change the oil in these for less than $100 and they are reliable! Unless I towed daily it would be hard to justify the added cost and upkeep of a diesel. |
