southern MN | Your roller can push the rocks down for harvest, I don’t see any erosion benefits at all. Rough surface slows both wind and water, so rolling probably increases erosion potential.
See that with peat ground and corn stalks, the dust and trash blows off a lot more on rolled fields aroun here than on regular tillage.
I’ve wondered if a roller helps seed to soil contact in some conditions, but likely hurts it also in other conditions.
