You say it is in a loader tractor. Is there any chance that a hydraulic valve is engaged and you are dead heading the hydraulic pump? That would put an instant load on the engine and prevent it from starting. Would fire and make smoke yet, but not run.
that is what it sounds like to me anyway. Let me know if I am right.
I’m hoping that’s not the answer, because there’s no way to disengage all the hydraulics.
