Wisconsin | If the fitting loosened at the top of the injection pump thats the delivery valve and below the fitting going into the pump is a metal seal if that is not sealing fuel goes back to the fuel galley of the pump.
Fuel will come out the lines when loose but when tight the fuel is delayed or not the right volume going into the cylinders.
if its the pump not built into the block it should go to a pump shop or you could try torquing the valves down
