Any chance you got some bad fuel in it. I experienced that with my small Yanmar. It smoked something terrible and quit. I had to clean out the fuel tank and change the fuel filter and then bleed the air out.


You might be on to something. I’m starting to wonder if there wasn’t some kind of residue in the old gas tank that the diesel washed loose. The smoke I’m getting seems to have a bit of a different smell to it. Also, the engine appeared to be running biodiesel before I got it, but I thought we got that all flushed out when we had it running last year.
