I too am kinda baffled by the continued use of chains in certain areas, the flagship cnh combines have done away with a lot chains and belts, replaced by hydraulics and driveshaft/ gearboxes.
Harley motorcycles for years have used belt drive, there are a few engines that the overhead cam is belt drive, and Polaris snowmobiles use a belt drive, final drive on the rmk sleds.
