scmn | No SAE bolts are way better then metric. 5/16 bolt = 1/2” wrench, 3/8= 9/16, 1/2= 3/4 5/8=15/16 3/4 = 1/18 ON BOTH SIDES That is true until you buy heavy hex bolts and the wrench sizes are all different.
FWIW it is a lot easier to teach someone to read a metric tape measure or to grab the next size larger metric wrench (3/8-7/16/1/2-9/16-5/8-11/16-3/4); perhaps we need to standardize English wrenches on the dash size system -6=6/16=3/8,-7=7/16,-8=8/16=1/2,-9,-10,-11-,12-,13-,14,-15,-16,-17,-18, etc |
