Linneus Mo. | Yep those cost + deals are coming to renewal time. Thing is they are coming at a time when lots of milk can be gotten for cheap. so instead of 18 or so bucks they will be rewriting at 16. that is a big deal. the other thing is interest. I have said for a long time that a rise in interest rates would be a boon for the small farmer.
We will see.
Biggest thing is if you are a 50 to 100 cow dairy you better start comparing apples to apples. all to often we look at the big guys with the fancy stuff and say that is what we should have. that is wrong.
If you are milking less than a 500 cows you are probably going to be living on less than 50,000 a year. SO live like it. And realize you don't get to have the little herd with the big money. | |
