Pierce county WI | I hope not. Somehow though livestock production has been taken away from the small farms over the years. Don't think for a second that grain crop production can't go the same way. When I was a kid lots of farms around here had 20-70 dairy cows and a few sows. In the last 10 years the amount of small dairies that have quit is staggering. The pigs left after 98. When I was a kid there were old chicken coups on many farms. Chicken production and egg production had already consolidated. I hope we don't see this happen to crops. First it was poultry, then pork, then dairy.......... | |
