NC IL I80@68 | Long as we are plowing here did anybody ever use or a DMI Hydra Wide plow they were I think the first variable width plow went from 14-22 inches hydraulic adjustable similar to the JD 2800 , and IH 730-35 plows they weighed about 1000#/bottom . They came out early '70's with all the weight they stayed in the ground good , pulled hard , not as hard as that 2800 I had , but they used an Oliver molbord or a close copy of it so they turned things over descent . They were too heavy , had poor welding , 3pt hitch area was always breaking and tail wheel section to probably from bouncing too much going too fast across headlands . Had a 5 bottom behind 4630-40 was all you wanted , pulled a 6 with the 8630 but kept breaking front pivot . They were about the first plow in these parts that you could plow stalks under without disking , shredding etc till the IH 720 came out . | |
