We had both and definetly prefer the IH. The 2800 was weak where the 3 pt bar mounted to the plow, most were welded or built up there.
I think you have that backward. The IH had a 2x2 iron for the hitch and 2800 has 3x3 or larger. Almost every IH onland plow around here has had that piece busted.
2800 don't have as sharp of a curve on the moldboard which is why they don't cover as good but pull easier than the IH.
I don't really think one does a better job than the other IH vs Deere, it's all in how it's set and how wore it is. I do know that the IH (720 at least) is built way lighter and has a poor front wheel design. I liked my IH but got sick of welding on it. |
