Nw Iowa | I think all the onland mounted plows where weak in the front. The IH 2x2 bar was weak but the Jd was weak where the bar pivoted. The Jd hyd tail wheel doesn't work when it gets cold so when you turn puts more pressure on whole thing. The hyd gizmo that turns the wheel on the front is expensive to fix. I think if Deere would have just used a normal rear tail wheel they would have a lot better rep in our area. If you are in a warm area, probably didn't have as many problems. Still a expensive system to maintain. At the end of the day here 4 out of 5 would prefer a IH plow. Like my post said I had them all, JD, IH and white and I am a Deere guy and trying to be unbiased. All good plows but I would pick a IH first. IH is also cheaper on parts and doesn't have the oddball hyd system and rear hyd cylinder. I think that rear cylinder is close to a 1000 to replace. | |
