I am a therapist who grew up on a farm and still farms on the side. Yes your information is probably going to be recorded and that is because everything in our field is driven by insurance. We have to give a diagnosis in order to bill insurance. That being said, i can't speak for all areas but many areas there are crisis services that can be accessed and these are free of charge. This can include anything from hotlines-both by calling and texting, face to face meetings and access to medication providers if needed. Using any sort of hotline will allow you anonymity. It is also important to know that mental health professionals are required by law to ensure a person's safety. What this means is that we are going to do something if someone has stated they are not able to keep themselves safe. This can be anything from making sure that someone isn't going to be alone and including going to the hospital if need be. The hospital is always the last resort of where we want anyone to go, but sometimes it is necessary.
