You hit the nail on the head. Brad tried cover crops once and they didn't work. They work in the situations where the operator is willing to try to figure out his failures. I have covers on the majority of my acres and have never gotten a dime from NRCS for them. I grow my own cereal rye seed and that cuts down on the cost and I even get a little income selling seed. Haven't been through Brad's area lately, but in my local area there are quite a few covers being used very successfully. The erosion and weed control alone are worth the price of establishment, in my opinion. Patrick
