In Iowa, they claim it's 1/3-1/2. I'd believe it, some of our dude hills are sure light. I can snap some pics and show you some of our fence rows at the bottom of hills that are 6-8 ft high! That's a ton of soil, luckily the fence was there. Next to waterways/creeks that soil is gone.
"They" claim a lot of things, and some of it may even be right. I'd like to see the 6-8 ft high fences.
