Speaking of a guy planting corn into "rye that is 5 ft tall". It can be done. Not saying it is for everyone. But here is a pic of corn planting a few days ago into 5 ft tall rye with a Kinze 3600 in central Illinois. Sort of 180 degrees paradigm shift from Garvo's pics above. Not selling nor promoting this. Just pointing out that there's more than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes. edit to add a couple more pics. Note the standing rye in the background behind the planter in the last pic. One pass from cover to planted.
