A cheaper option if you don't solve the problem might be to get a large tank approved for potable water and haul your water until you get rural water. My in-laws hauled water 20 miles and put it in a cistern for close to 30 years. They had a 400 ft deep well that pumped 1 gal/min and the water was horrible.
