RO won't do anything for bacteria. In fact it could make it worse as the carbon filters provide media for bacteria to grow. A UV light will kill bacteria. The best system would combine the two.






That's not what I read from several different sources, and seems to prove itself by how our water that normally gets nasty in days, will still be fresh tasting at 6 months after running through a RO filter. It might depend on how tight gaskets, ,O rings and other seals in the system are, but bacteria or virus can not get through an intact RO filter system. I agree, the UV light is a good bug killer.
