Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | OK, I have Norton anti virus which everyone seems to hate, They had an online offer that I could download Norton 2009 free for the remainder of my 2008 subscription (40 days left) Their claim was that they have fixed all the problems that made people hate Norton AV. A quick Google check said that people love Norton 2009, so I decided to go for it.
I downloaded the free trial and really did not notice any difference (speed etc) except the Norton page has changed
This morning, a few days after installing 2009 Norton, , XP/SP3 downloaded as an automatic update,( I thought that happened months ago, or was that SP2 ?) .
I installed it, and on the restart, a box popped up saying Error3040,10062, after you install a Norton 2009 product
go to Start, Run. In the dialog box, type the following (regsvr32 hnetcfg.dll) click OK
I did that , the warning box went away and the computer started.
Now pages or posts on NAT load about twice as fast. :-)
What caused the speed increase, SP3, Norton 2009 after doing the fix suggested in the box , or what ??
What ever, computer operation is much improved. |
Can some of you more computer savvy explain what just happened here ??
