New London, Wisconsin | We had an issue about ten years ago with an insurance company. My agent said quite plainly we were getting screwed by the company. I asked if he could help, and by law he could not. He did recommend contacting the state insurance commissioner so we did. We sent about a 1/4 inch thick envelope full of details and in TWO days they called to say they were on this. The NEXT day our insurance company called to say, "Oops, looks like we were supposed to pay that after all." They were in such a hurry to get the state off their back, I think they paid even more of the total claim than I had been expecting.
Happy ending, and it was settled remarkably quickly.
