S.E. Iowa | 32x84. If you build pour concrete in the whole thing. We put them up over an old cargil floor. The slope of the floor is a pain because of the bedding continously flowing down the hill. I think I paid 32000 for them and got the sidewalls from a local lumber company. I got them from Economy shelters I think it is in Ollie Iowa. Easy going nice guy. He makes them on the farm. If you go much wider I think you got to get an engineered truss so the price goes up. By using existing concrete I got around some of the requirements as far as waterstop etc. I got into it somewhat because of additional concrete. They are better in some ways because they can be used for other things but are more labor intensive than a regular confinement. You can buld a building to raise 200 pigs in a group which you could never do in a confinement. What is nuts you could build them on dirt {Illinois} but you pour concrete you have to use waterstop and bar. | |
